Binary package hint: update-notifier
I've recently discovered a well-designed form of providing post-install update information, through /var/lib/
I'm referring to interactive upgrade hooks. Unfortunately, documentation isn't included with the package.
All I could find was: https:/
It should be well-documented for each command, especially for packagers who wish to use this.
$ apt-cache policy update-notifier
update-notifier:

I checked the code, the upgrade hooks are documented in file HOOKS, so this makes it a bug #319194 duplicate
