SidebarUA - seems to start but it's not displayed

Bug Description

SidebarUA - seems to start OK from the terminal (no errors and shows in running screenlets), but nothing is displayed on screen and any applet switched to Sidebar server disappears.
Log file is empty.
I am using Ubuntu 8.04 with bzr version of UA and UA-extras.

I can't confirm this. Can you try deleting the config (save a copy first) and see if that helps. Perhaps one of the themes is problematic.

If that doesn't work, try deleting melange's config for the applet in ~/.config/melange/SidebarUA1.ini. Again, save a copy first so that we can see what the problem is.

You are right, my /.config/melange/SidebarUA1.ini had x set to 1424 so it was outside the screen (my screen is 1280x800).
I don't know what caused this value to be stored in the file, but I changed the value to 1000 and now I can see it and it works as expected.

Yeah, it's strange. Melange shouldn't allow that to happen.

I fixed this in Melange in revision 517. It now positions applets along the appropriate screen edge if the values in the file are offscreen.
