unity8 doesn't provide a gnome-session session file

Bug Description

It's only possible to log in to unity8 using lightdm. But Ubuntu GNOME ships gdm3 and Kubuntu ships sddm instead of lightdm.

Is it because those other DMs need to specifically support MIR?

Specifically, unity8-desktop-session provides the appropriate file in /usr/share/lightdm/sessions/ but not in /usr/share/gnome-session/sessions/ or in /usr/share/xsessions/
