Bug Description

During workspace switching, the user sees an overview of ~4 workspaces side by side to the launcher. When clicking a launcher icon (application) instead of a workspace, it switches to the currently active workspace, as is the sensitive area of the workspaces extends to the area of the launcher.
The misbehavior is especially then obvious when the launcher icon is not next to the active workspace.

Expected behavior: Since the launcher is not grayed out, the launcher icons should work as normal and switch to the workspace and focus their corresponding application. (It worked like that in 12.04)

At first I could not reproduce this, but now I can make it happen, at least sometimes. I think the difference may have been that with the Launcher always visible, I didn't see the bug. Letting the Launcher hide and appear on demand, I can hit the bug sometimes. That might make a little sense, if it's harder to assign the click properly, when the Launcher's screen area isn't static.

Is your Launcher set to hide, Andreas?

Thanks.

Yes, it autohides. I corrected the bug description: The workspace switcher does not switch to the application of the clicked launcher icon but to the currently active workspace.

As part of the big bug review for 16.04 LTS, I have tested this on 15.10 and the bug is still there.
