I have been seeing the Safari Unsupported browser warning in the gmail app for some time. I was hoping that this would get fixed but have heard that it will never be fixed.

I have been seeing the Unsupported Browser Warning when using gmail via the system tray mail icon for some time and I have heard that this will never be fixed, is that true?
