Bug Description

Since upgrade to 13.10 I observed a much higher memory usage compared to 13.04. Unity Home Scope is one of the most hungry processes and it's very often the number one with more than 300 MiB reported in Gnome System Monitor.

It also has a very bad influence on Compiz which is leaking memory when unity-scope-home leaks.

The worst memory leaks happen when clementine.scope is running which is represented as python3 in System Monitor. This process is using 100% of one core of my CPU and more than 300 MiB of memory.

Today I had the worst memory leak of these three processes which combined amounted to 2,0 GiB of RAM. I'm attaching screenshots of Gnome System Monitor.

I've also used health-check (ppa:colin-king/white) against unity-scope-home while searching for two things and it confirmed a serious leaks of memory.

Today I launched literally two programs from frequently used list in home scope and then I didn't open dash at all. Even in this case unity-scope-home is at 295 MiB of RAM in System Monitor.

I've disabled Clementine scope a couple days ago and since then there is no more unity-scope-home memory leaks.

That scope is the real problem and I will probablly report bug in it's launchpad page.

I have upgraded to 14.04 (development branch) in the first week of 2014. I decided to enable Clementine scope and check if it's still leaks memory.

Since then I've searched in Dash multiple times for different things, including my music and I didn't have any problems with memory leaks. The python3 process that represents Clementine scope never used more than 24 MiB and as soon as I stop using Dash it dissapears (freeing resources).
