Bug Description

It should be highlighted (as it did in Windows XP) and do some feedback effect when the pointer passes over, in my opinion.

Also the indicators should have this feature.
I think this is a serious lack from Canonical, because the user experience is very compromised. In fact my parents (who are over 40) don't understand that the logo is clickable.

I’d also think that indicators should highlight when on mouse hover.

For example, take a look at Opera menu bar. Its menu bar use Ambiance (or current) theme, and menus are highlighted when on mouse hover. Indicators should mimic that behavior.

Here is some ideas:
1. Show a popup beside the launcher at the first start after the installation that encourages the user to click it.
2. Use an attractive color combination of the button for make it stand out from the other buttons.
3. Show a slide to inform the user that the ubuntu-button is clickable can be another solution.
