Bug Description
If pairing_tool (or either script) returns a non-zero exit status (indicating an issue with setting up the receiver into pairing mode), then the application continues on without issues and doesn't inform the user about the problem. This can easily lead to confusion about why the receiver wasn't paired to the input device.

Added some basic permissions handling to the package. It should be building and uploading to the PPA shortly.
