Bug Description
Newer 64bit ISOs from Canonical use casper/vmlinuz.efi (not casper/vmlinuz), which means using current versions of UCK, a new casper/vmlinuz is generated, but the old casper/vmlinuz.efi is booted, along with a initrd generated for the newer updated kernel. This results in a boot failure, where the user is dropped into an initramfs shell.

A similar bug does also exist in casper package. I reported it and created a patch for fixing it here: /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ casper/ +bug/1433229
