Bug Description

Hi, I have a folder layout like this

My Files > Quake > ID1

Now, when I put Quake into My Files, everything synced fine. Except the ID1 folder. I had to manually quit the program and reload it for it to try to sync the files, which it then did successfully. I had an identical setup about a week ago which never synced properly either, even after several reboots, and therefore restarting on ubuntuone-client-gnome.

Anyway, if you want I'll upload any logs or such. Just let me know what you need to help work out the bug :)

Hi Abe,

Sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working for you properly. In order for us to troubleshoot this issue and get to the root of the problem, we'll need you to attach your syncdaemon logs to this bug report. You can find these log files at:

~/.cache/ubuntuone/log

Click on the "Add an attachment" link on this bug page and attach any syncdaemon logs from the time this problem occurred. Note: These files will list filenames from your computer. If you're uncomfortable with people potentially seeing this information, please let me know and I'll see if there's another way for you to get the files to us in a more private manner.

Thanks!

Joshua

Hi Abe, Thank you for attaching the log file! I'm assuming there were no log files with "exception" in the name, correct? I'll assign this to someone so they can look into what might be going on. They may follow up with more questions of their own. Thank you again for your help in troubleshooting this issue.

Lucio, Can you have someone take a look at this bug and see if we can determine why Abe's ID1 folder didn't sync but all the others did? Thanks!

Actually, I have something like 5 *.exception.* logs in the folder. This is the file you guys are going to want. It says it is from September 3, but all the errors are dated September 2.

I am seeing this problem using the 1.0.3 version of the client from proposed.
I have a subfolder which is not syncing.
I kill the client and daemon, restart them, and the folder syncs.

With ubuntuone-client{,-gnome,-tools} 1.0.2-0ubuntu2, I believe I'm seeing the same/similar problem. While at work today, I used the web interface to modify a file stored on Ubuntu One. When I got home, it had not synced to my desktop which was on all day and Ubuntu One claimed "connected" and "All your files are up to date" status. The syncdaemon-exceptions.log file exists, but is empty, and my syncdaemon.log file is attached. Telling the client to disconnect and reconnect prompted a sync.

im also affected by this "bug".

I'm running the ubuntuone client from the ppa, i tried many times to close the Applet, disconnect, and reconnect. It did not help

Now i just typed u1sdtool -c in the linux-console, u1sdtool -s shows me:
State: START_WORKING_ON_BOTH
    is_error: False
    is_connected: True
description: start working on both content and metadata
    is_online: True

and Ubuntu One is now syncing my files. Why is there a difference in behaviour between the applet and the cli tool?
