Bug Description

ubuntu one is not syncing or connecting to the web and displays the connect button in the window rebooting doesn't even start it working this is one of the things i miss about the applet you always know if it is working or not could you make it were you have a choice to show or hide the applet.

Where exactly does it fail? Did you add/remove/modify a file locally, and do the changes not show up on the web, or vice versa?

After last update of ubuntu one I can confirm same issue.
I have added a couple of files to the ubuntuone folder, but no syncing is started. No new files on the web.
The ubuntu one icon was displayed for some seconds, then it disappeared, but no syncing process.
I use Ubuntu 9.04 64bit.

Can either of you run:

apport-collect -p ubuntuone-client 415781

in a terminal, which will collect logs and other information, and attach it to this bug.

Thanks!

Well, this morning I have rebooted my PC and now the ubuntu one web is in sync with my client. I guess that only after the reboot the ubuntuone syncdaemon has made his job.
I have saved now another couple of files just for testing, and this time all went well. Both files are now synced with the web. So I don't know if this is really a bug or not.
However the fact that now the ubuntuone panel applet is no more visible is a bit confusing. The user has no more clear clue on what ubuntuone is doing or not doing. I have to open the ubuntuone folder and watch if my files have the upload symbol on it to know if something happen.

I run 'andLinux' Ubunto 9.04 on my WinXP laptop and Ubuntu 9.10 in a VirtualBox 3.012 on Fedora 11. Looks like 'andLinux' <-> Web is ok, but Ubuntu 9.10 <-> is problematic. At first it seemed to have worked but lately is NOT syncing. In the mean time I updated Ubuntu 9.10 pretty much every time the update manager suggested so. I know that some of these updates were kernel level since I had to re-install the VBox Guest Additions.

The clicking on the icon's 'Disconnect' does NOT toggle icon's button, rather changes the File Manager's 'Ubuntu One's Disconnect permanently to 'Connect' and that one stays on 'Connect' while the icon's one stays on 'Disconnect' and NO syncing is happening

For me, this is my first time trying UbuntuOne. I've followed the Tutorial instructions closely, and have even reinstalled Evolution CouchDB, and still Contacts and Bookmarks (Bindwood) are not syncing (I haven't bothered to reinstall Bindwood). Also, notes in Tomboy Notes deleted on computer do not delete in UbuntuOne, but I get this message, "Could not synchronise notes. Check the details below and try again." However, a file could be uploaded.

My case: two computers. Both have folder Ubuntu One, both have sub-folder gps, both have the document auswahl.odt. Automatic connection doesn't occur, manual connection. Computer 1 updates auswahl.odt, ubuntuone pop-up comes up 'aktualisierung'. disconnect (sometimes cloud button doesn't work, have to end program 'beenden'). Go to computer 2, connect and find auswahl.odt.'ubuntuone'.conflict, but no auswahl.odt. The .conflict contains no data! I would like to use ubuntuone instead of another service, but these problems raise doubts.

Ubuntu One started to sync my file, but when 17M of data was downloaded, Ubuntu One refused to download any more files.

I have canceled my Ubuntu One subscription, more in sorrow than in anger, but I wish the project well!

Even I can confirm the same issue.Ubuntu one connects successfully and shows sync taking place, but after the sync is complete it still shows as 0.0KB used, infact when there are lot of contacts, files and bookmarks to be synced.I login to the ubuntu one site and check the dashboard and dont see any usage.

I am using the Ubuntu Lucid Lynx (10.04 LTS).
