Bug Description
linux-kvm needs the following standard config options for best performance and functionality for common workloads per the Ubuntu Server team:
enable NO_HZ_IDLE, HIGH_RES_TIMERS
enable NUMA
enable all CGROUPs
enable all CONFIG_RD decompressors
enable COREDUMP
enable X86_X2APIC
enable PREEMPT_VOLUNTARY
enable HOTPLUG_CPU
enable BLK_DEV_SD
enable ATA, PATA, SATA
enable BONDING, MACVLAN, TUN, VETH
enable HW_RANDOM_
enable EFI_VARS
enable SQUASHFS

I have smoke tested a kernel with these enabled; all options match those in generic.
