If you are using Jaunty or later this information can be gathered for you automatically using the command apport-collect -p alsa-base BUGNUMBER where BUGNUMBER is the number of the bug you've reported.
Additionally, I have done some research on your laptop model and linux/ubuntu sound compatibility and it appears that sound should be working without any special customizations. Perhaps, this is a regression.
