Stefan Bader commited the patch.

For Intrepid this was part of the 2.6.27.13 stable integration which should be released with -12.28.
For Jaunty it was included in the 2.6.28.2 stable updates which have been released in -6.16.

Marking this Fix Released for Jaunty as the patches are already available in the latest 2.6.28-11.42 kernel.

This bug was fixed in the package linux - 2.6.27-14.33
