Bug Description
Binary package hint: xvidcap
I'm trying to use xvidcap tool but it crashes all the time with the following error:
xtoffmpeg.c guess_input_
Steps to reproduce:
1/ start xvidcap from shell: xvidcap
The GUI pops up.
2/ Click on the button "Select Rectangular Area to Capture" button (that's the second button from the right)
3/ Click on a terminal window to capture its content with xvidcap
4/ observe the error message:
xtoffmpeg.c guess_input_
... and xvidcap exits immediately.
This is with Intrepid (Ubuntu 8.10, latest updates)

I get this exact same error.
I'm running Kubuntu 8.10 64-bit, fglrx with an HD3870X2 video card.
Perhaps noteworthy, I have everything in amdcccle turned all the way up (dunno if xvidcap uses OpenGL or not, or even if it did if that's relevant info...)
Cheers, and thanks for your time,
DHG
