xsane acquire preview ok but fail to scan

Bug Description

on Ubuntu 21.04 I start xsane to scan on my HP deskjet 2630, acquire preview is ok but scan fails with a message: "Failed to start scanner: Document feeder out of documents." HP deskjet 2630 is a single flatbed, no document feeder and the scanned page is still on the scanner.

Note: when i start xsane i see a window to select scan device, If I select the 1st one xsane starts fine and gives the problem as exposed. If I select the 2nd one xsane does not start.
