brightness applet causes desktop to lag

Bug Description

Binary package hint: acpi

When I try to change the LCD brightness on my laptop with the brightness applet, the scroll bar moves uncontrolled up and down after moving it just a little bit. The desktop begins to lag. If I watch a movie and adjust brightness, the movie will get partially unresponsive. That is happening for some seconds. When stopped, the brightness changes and the desktop stops to lag.

I'm using Intrepid with the latest updates. I could change the brightness with the applet on Hardy with no problems.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information.

Please include the following additional information:

1. Please include the output of the command "uname -a" in your next response. It should be one, long line of text which includes the exact kernel version you're running, as well as the CPU architecture.
2. Please run the command "lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log" and attach the resulting file "lspci-vvnn.log" to this bug report.

Please attach also the files:

/etc/X11/xorg.conf
/var/log/Xorg.0.log

after you had such a lag. Thank you.
