i965-va-driver 1.5.0 shows green block artifacts on decoding some mkv/h264 videos

Bug Description
reverting to 1.3.2 restores the desired behaviour.
I use xine-ui 0.99.9-1.2 configured for vaapi video output backend.
xine libs are of version 1.2.6-1build1.
in xine logs I see this :
[h264 @ 0x7f2ce0003920] hardware accelerator failed to decode picture
initially the picture is reset to green screen, then it morphs somewhat, then blinks black and reset to green again.

This looks a lot like http:// lists.freedeskt op.org/ archives/ libva/2015- January/ 003077. html. Since upstream is still waiting on more info, could you please contact them and provide them with the info necessary to fix this bug?
