Bug Description

Binary package hint: xfce4-utils

Previously using xfce4 on ubuntu 7.10, I upgraded to hardy 8.04.
This upgrade operated smoothly but, at reboot, I cannot launch Xfce4 session from gdm.

I managed to solve this issue.

I changed line "Exec=startxfce4" to "Exec=xfce4-session" in /usr/share/xsessions/xfce4.desktop and everything went much better !

A friend of mine in the same situation did the same update on this file and it worked well too.

I attach xfce4.desktop file.

How exactly were you unable to login? Did the login screen go away and nothing loaded? Could you still see and move the mouse around?
