Caps for Greek (and probably other) locales are not working

When I run this command:
  xdotool key Greek_GAMMA

I get "γ" instead of the expected "Γ"

xdotool version:
$ xdotool -v
xdotool version 2.20110530.1

on Ubuntu Linux 11.10 64 bit (kernel 3.0.0-17-generic)

"xdotool key Greek_gamma" works as expected:
γ

This happens for all the letters of the Greek alphabet and apparently on Cyrillic as well.

I also tried "xdotool key Aacute" and "xdotool key aacute" and they both display the lowercase version:
