Bug Description

Binary package hint: xdg-user-dirs

With accounts originating from a previous release of Ubunut (Jaunty), an upgrade to Karmic yields in strange configuration of the XDG user dirs.

For me, the following are set (this used to be $HOME/Musik, $HOME/Bilder and %HOME/Videos on Jaunty).

XDG_MUSIC_DIR="$HOME/"
XDG_PICTURES_DIR="$HOME/"
XDG_VIDEOS_DIR="$HOME/"

After using this account on Karmic, these three folders are set to the home directory. With users added on Karmic the directories are set correctly.

Thank you for your bug report, that is weird and you seem to be the only one to get the issue so far so setting to low

I know of at least three people; the guy who reported https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=597276 and another guy on #ubuntu+1 who kindly tried on his upgraded ubuntu, but yes, it seems a bit weird.

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version.Thanks in advance.

I completely forgot about this bug tbh. It certainly didn't happen on the upgrade from maverick to natty.
