Bug Description
Binary package hint: xchat
In the XChat preferences' sub section 'Alerts' there is a check-box option to enable showing a tray icon. This should go.
Recommendation from the Design Team:
"When notification area is absent, hide the checkbox, and behave as if it is unchecked."
This bug report is part of our effort to remove references to the tray from all applications as the notification area is going to be deprecated in Ubuntu.

When you click the close button (x icon in upper left corner) it shows a minimize to systray option. This should be removed as well.
