Bug Description
I've used XBMC for many years. When it starts, it scans the library it knows, looking for new stuff.
But now it doesn't, on the version in Precise (12.04). Edit any "files" entry to point to media. Check the box that says "scan this area on startup" and end the edit normally. Leave XMBC, re-enter and watch as it does nothing.
This isn't seeing it wrong or a single test; every machine in my house, running Precise and XBMC, having turned on these checkboxes, never scan on startup.
While not a segfault on boot, it's still kind of a pain...and I'll bet it's something simple that was overlooked; the code has worked for years.
Thanks so much for what you do! If I can help with docs or diagnostics, let me know; thanks!
Ya know, when you're the only one reporting an obvious bug, and it's 4am? Double check yourself.
Sorry, guys. I thought I had a real one- I don't. I'm just an idiot, and God saw fit to remind me. There's an "enable scan at startup" that I'd forgotten all about. Under settings->library I believe. It was OFF.
I'm so sorry to bother you...
