"Load random example" fails because examples are in subdirectories

In the File menu, "Load random example" fails, saying "Error: Could not open examples". This is because examples are in subdirectories of /usr/share/XaoS/examples, and XaoS is not capable of finding examples in subdirectories. XaoS looks in /usr/share/XaoS/examples and in a few other non-existent places for examples, but never in subdirectories where the examples actually are.

To fix this you can move or link examples to /usr/share/XaoS/examples. For example you can: cd /usr/share/XaoS/examples && sudo find . -name \*.xpf -exec ln -s "{}" . \;
