Bug Description
Sluggish performance in Virtualbox after Natty->Oneiric upgrade.
Choppy audio, and poor disk I/O performance. Underlying system as VM extensions enabled in the BIOS. I've experimented with the execute-flag setting in the host's BIOS after some web-searches, but these have no effect. The host has an SSD as main storage.
I've observed this with Windows 7 guests, and I haven't done anything performance-
The VirtualBox Guest Additions appear to be up-to-date, and don't appear to have changed since the version of VirtualBox I was using with Natty.
Also, the host was upgraded from Natty to Oneiric via the install CD. This is not a fresh install.
The VM guests are just plain sluggish, and much slower than they were before the Oneiric upgrade. Before the upgrade, VM guests were snappy, and audio worked flawlessly.
I'll be happy to perform any additional diagnostic steps that you suggest, especially since I haven't been able to isolate a cause for this one.
Thanks!
ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10
Package: virtualbox 4.1.2-dfsg-1ubuntu1
ProcVersionSign
Uname: Linux 3.0.0-11-generic x86_64
ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu1
Architecture: amd64
Date: Thu Sep 15 08:24:15 2011
SourcePackage: virtualbox
UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install)
It's beyond sluggish for me, I find both the host and guests unusable until I can get through the IO wait long enough to kill virtualbox.
