Bug Description

When booting ubuntu oneiric amd64 daily (2011-09-02) iso, virtualbox always crashes with the same "invalid opcode: 0000" error (see attached log) just after the "Ubuntu" splash screen (see attached screenshot).

The issue also happens when using the old 2.6.38-11 kernel.

I had the same problem -- virtualbox kept crashing "soon" -- (NOHZ=off seemed to help some, but I'm not sure if its real or anecdotal). I was running ubuntu 11.10 oneiric.

I updated to:
   3.0.0-17
   vbox 4.1.2

and it happens less often (I can get some work done) -- but still happens occassionally.

I left a virtual machine running for the last day just idle (running fedora 14) and it crashed again
