Bug Description

Binary package hint: uswsusp

In feisty I have installed the uswsusp package, however system hibernation via is still done "the old way". II expected that uswsusp would be automatically used if present.

Feisty's acpi-support package has support for uswsusp, although there's a minor issue (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/uswsusp/+bug/82283).

This is just half-fixed: uswsusp is indeed put "at work" at suspend (thank you!) but it does not resume (maybe /boot/grub/menu.lst should be somewhat edited?). Moreover, when installed, it asked a debconf question about the swap device being invalid. I said to it not to proceed, and it proceeded anyway, then in /etc/uswsusp.conf the configuration key for the resume device contained my swap device UUID, which seemed correct but blocked uswsusp from working. Indeed, installation had copied it from fstab. Instead, it should be taken from the output of "swapon -s" where /dev/SOMETHING is listed (when I manually changed this, it worked).
