update-notifier using to much CPU

Bug Description
When I have some update to download, the update-notifier icon is not present in the notification area. Using top I can see that update-notifier is using up to 60% of CPU (and xorg goes up to 30%) with system slowdown. Killing the update-notifier process everything return normal.
