Bug Description
In Hardy, I locked flashplugin-nonfree to 9.x instead of the 10.x in Backports. Now the Update Manager notifier is stuck in the notification area, even though when I click on it it tells me there's no updates.

I can't confirm this. Since you locked the packages, have you right-clicked on the Update Manager icon and clicked on 'Check for updates'? Once I do this, the icon disappears when all the 'upgradeable' packages are locked
