Bug Description
Binary package hint: update-manager
Was trying to upgrade my quite recently installed 10.04 Lucid install to 10.10 Maverick Meerkat.
Steps followed:
1. Ran update manager and installed any outstanding updates
2. Pressed upgrade button at which point 2 files are downloaded
3. Preparing to upgrade completes and a popup shows telling me that Third party sources are disabled until after upgrade
4. While running Setting new software channels at the Checking the package manager stage I get an error saying:
Invalid package information
After your package information was updated the essential package 'ubuntu-minimal' can not be found anymore.
This indicates a serious error, please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the files
in /var/log/
I have bzipped and attached said files
