Bug Description
Seen 2 varities of this problem.
#1) while running unity8 desktop and clicking for tooltip on launcher on my open applications, I see the first letter corrupted in the action words "Unpin" and "Quit" (so "U" and "Q" respectively are what is corrupted.
Interesting is the Application's name is not corrupted.
This seems intermittent as well
#2) selecting "Shut down" provides the usual user prompt to cancel or power off, in this case only the "ff"s were corrupted

This looks like a QPA issue. In the case of unity8, qtmir is the qpa. Adding qtmir.
