Bug Description
In Precise, when you click an application in the Dash results that also happens to be pinned to the launcher, the launcher will not pulse to indicate that the program is starting up.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Pin an application to the launcher
2. Open dash and search for that application.
3. Click on that application to run it
(Easiest to reproduce with Ubuntu Software Center and its... languid start-up times.)
What it does:
The launcher item stays "solid" and the indicators for a running app will show up eventually.
What is expected:
The launcher item for the application should "pulse" to indicate that the application is starting up until the chevron item appears.
Running up-to-date Precise with Unity 5.0
This bug report was marked as a duplicate of bug 893140. But that bug report is about the Launcher animation fading in too slowly, whereas this bug report is about the animation not happening at all.
