Bug Description

After resuming from sleep, the login screen seems to be a collage of different fragments from the desktop before going to sleep.

This is a regression from 15.04 where it worked perfectly :-)

Inputing the password and hitting enter brings up the desktop as expected, so it would seem like a pure display issue.

Thank you for your bug report. Can you make a photo of the issue? Are you using the greeter as lock screen or are you talking about the unity lockscreen?

Changed in lightdm (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Incomplete

Today, it's elected to be plain blue - instead of mosaic/collage. :-)

Interestingly this happens when choosing "Suspend" from a logged in session.
If I lock the screen (to the "Switch user" screen) and select suspend, then resume is all fine.

My graphics card is:

jhb@ThinkPad-W510:~$ lspci | grep -i vga
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GT216GLM [Quadro FX 880M] (rev a2)

(standard for a Lenovo Thinkpad w510)

I'm not sure, but I think it's the greeter lock screen.
I suspend the laptop, then resume - and have it set up to demand password validation?

it's likely unity which is handling the lock in this case
