unity relies on super (windows) key

14.04 beta 2. On booting an older Thinkpad (sans Windows key) - Unity shows and use shortcuts that rely heavily on a Super (Windows) key. This laptop does not have such a key. Would be good to fallback to a reasonable alternative.
