Bug Description
Chinese Edition Ubuntu 12.10 (Quantal Quetzal) Daily Build
Issue: See screenshot: Heading on top-left corner of panel gets stuck displaying the heading of the previously used application and stays like that even after closing the application.
Additional info:- This was observed after the compiz crashed when trying to restart system. Was unable to report crash using apport due to this message "Cannot report the problem because your software version is old, please try to update and verify if the same problem happens again".

seems nautilus crashed for you, as there is no panel shadow + there are no desktop icons (while I saw in a another bug you just reported there were icons on the desktop). unity is known to not work properly if nautilus crashes. there is already a bug on that. see bug 952321
