Bug Description
Binary package hint: udev
In Ubuntu Intrepid 32 bit, I get the following error when trying to use xsane:
Failed to open device 'brother2:
When I run xsane as root or do "sudo chmod a+rw /dev/bus/
The permissions of the device should be set correctly by udev.

Correction, an ACL on the device should be set by HAL
