Choosing "Checkout" just shows "Getting information" forever

Bug Description
Rhythmbox 2.97, Ubuntu Q
1. Log in to a guest session.
2. Launch Rhythmbox.
3. Navigate to the "Ubuntu One" store.
4. Add a song to your basket.
5. Click the invisible Check Out button (bug 1034320).
What happens:
* An "Ubuntu Single Sign On" window appears.
* A "Getting information, please wait..." overlay appears on top of it, with an animation underneath.
* Ten minutes later, it's still "Getting information".
What should happen:
* If there's a problem contacting the server, give up after about 30 seconds.
