Could not calculate the upgrade

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.

This can be caused by:
* Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal.

This seems to have something to do with the php5 PPA you are using.

You might look at disabling the PPA and purging the packages using a tool called ppa-purge.

@Alberto - actually the release upgrader should either provide better information in these situations (bug 934371) or downgrade the packages to the release version (bug 1069133).
