Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntu-mid-default-settings

After a clean Ubuntu MID installation from the Karmic netboot image no errors are generated but the GUI fails to start upon reboot.

The script /etc/init.d/ubuntu-mid-default-settings calls the Upstart start, stop and status commands. However, there is no file /etc/init/session.conf file to tell it what to do. As a result the following occurs:

root@m300:/# etc/init.d/ubuntu-mid-default-settings restart
start: Unknown job: session

The session script should presumably start X and the display manager to allow login. If you need any more information from the test system, please let me know.

This way of starting will be obsoleted with the next community release of this distro which will either use gdm or nodm
