Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubiquity
Installing Natty alpha 32-bit on LVM with the Desktop live disk.
After having installed lvm2, modprobed dm-mod, configured my lvs and started the Ubuntu installer, it crashes at the bootloader installation step.
The window "Bootloader install failed" with contents "Sorry, an error occurred and it was not possible to install the bootloader at the specified location." is shown.
I have 3 options:
- Choose a different device
- Continue without a bootloader
- Cancel the installation
Despite from the failed bootloader installation, there seem to be some UI bugs:
- When I choose some LVM mapper device as "different device", the OK button get greyed out (Bug: it does not even try?).
- If I then choose "Continue without bootloader" or "Cancel the installation", the OK button stays greyed out.
- If I switch back to another normal partition (OK button is clickable), switch to "Continue without bootloader" again (OK still clickable), and click OK, just nothing happens.
- If I in any configuration (e.g. "Cancel the installation") click the clickable OK button, nothing happens.
- If I hit Alt-F4, nothing happens.
=> It is not possible for a normal user to leave the "Bootloader install failed" window. Happy trappy!
