Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-panel
Ubuntu 7.10 installer issue. Operating in Live Session works fine, but when I go to install Ubuntu 7.10, the installer window is bigger than the 800*600 screen on this old laptop - the bottom where the buttons are is off-screen with no way that I could see to scroll down. I can't install without clicking the buttons and don't know the keyboard shortcuts for them.
I have also tried using an external display but it doesn't help. The Display Resolution setting is maxed out at 800*600. Although the internal LCD is limited to that, Windows would allow running at 1024*768 when driving only the external monitor, so I know the hardware can do it.
I don't mean to put two problems in one report, but if the second one wasn't there I'd have a workaround for the first...
The laptop is a Gateway Solo 2500 H1.7BCSW 12.11/300DX

I have noticed the button being cover on a 800x600 screen. This happen on some newer machine with nvidia cards using the nv driver.
