ubiquity does not split and resize partitions when told to

Bug Description
When told to instal the new system along side the old system, a window pops up where the new and old partitions can be sized. Ubiquity seems to do nothing after that, it just sits there with the disc mouse pointer spinning. Checking with Menu->Accessori
