Bug Description

It would be useful to have the australian stamps package for tuxpaint available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/tuxpaint-au/ added to the ubuntu repository.

I *think* all the Australian stamps have already been integrated into the main program. I'm checking though.

Assigning to me.

Upstream on irc say that they are not deliberately excluded from the main stamps collection. *If* there are any missing it is either a mistake or possibly to do with licensing,

There is no licensing information with the Australian stamps. This means that they may well have been found with something like google images.

We can't package them like that, and to be honest no-one should be distributing them.

I downloaded the zip file from the website listed above, and it contains a LICENSE file that indicates the images are licensed under GPLv2. I'm not sure if the GPL can actually be used to license data rather than source code, but you can't say that there is no licensing information available.

What do we require from the author of these stamps so that we can include them in our repositories? Perhaps I can chase the author down and see if it can be forthcoming.

Sorry I mis remembered - it is still a licensing issue.

We need to know where the images came from. Did the author take them
himself or did he get them from somewhere?

Once we know that they are okay to distribute we'll just add them to
CVS upstream. They don't need to be a separate package.

What's the status on the Caroline? Is there an upstream task we can track? I'd like to set the status to something better (triaged or invalid or ...).

Many of the stamps are already in the main set. The rest should be
added if acceptible. However I don't believe the licensing.
