Binary package hint: tracker
I have many excel files on my system and I quickly noticed when tracker had finished it's initial indexing that there content was not indexed. After sifting through various forums and website I discovered that gnumeric needed to be installed before this could happen.
I would suggest that whatever part of gnumeric makes this possible be made a dependent package for tracker. I see that gnumeric is a "suggested" package for tracker. Perhaps it should be a "recommended" package.
Either way, perhaps there should be a way via tracker preferences to enable this simply. |

If it need to be an optional package, then it would be nice to be able to enable it from the indexer preferences GUI. |
