Bug Description

Binary package hint: tracker

This week, I once again gave Tracker a chance, and so far i found it to be much more unobstrusive than the last time I tried it. But I still miss two features (I run current intrepid):

- A foreground indexing dialog, where a user may choose to run the initial indexing with full system resources to speed up the indexing.
- A status dialog with nice progress bars, telling the user what tracker currently does (current file, type of metainfo extracted,...). Currently there is only the mouse-over bubble ("Indexing 127/890 folders") and the tracker-status window that does not update in real time and does not show the "maximum value" for each number.

Changed in tracker:

Would love to add my 2 cents to this. Been waiting for 4 hours for my first indexing to complete. Wish I could tell it to use the full power of both CPUs until its completed.
