Bug Description
Binary package hint: totem
totem was playing dvd's fine when I was at Ubuntu 7.10. I just upgraded - fresh install, format of drive - to Hardy Heron 8.04. Now, occasionally I have to reinsert the dvd in the drive multiple times before it will mount. And when it does mount, totem will refuse to play it with the error :" Could not read from resource". The dvd does mount, and I am able to browse it's contents via the file browser.
I'm not sure about the make of my dvd drive. I have a HP Pavilion zt3000 laptop.
my totem package version is 2.22.1-0ubuntu2
after downloading and installing the gstreamer 'ugly' plugins, I expected to be able to play a dvd. I could not.
