Binary package hint: toshset
The whole problem is that my birghtnes keys don't work on my laptop! Its a toshiba t135. They worked fine on 10.04 with "nomodeset acpi_backlight=
/etc/rc2.
launching toshset (Toshset is a command-line tool to allow access to much of the Toshiba laptop hardware ) outputs:
