After upgrade to ubuntu 11.10 it doesn't start

How did you install Tor?

2Runa: using aptitude long time ago, it was working correctly in ubuntu 10.04. I've purged and installed it again today, but no luck :(

Please provide the contents of /etc/apt/sources.list.

Just tried, but it didn't help. Still:

And 'aptitude purge tor tor-geoipdb && aptitude remove tor tor-geoipdb && aptitude install tor tor-geoipdb' gives you the same result?

Do you have an /etc/default/tor.vidalia? If so, try editing the file so that it says not to start tor.

$ cat /etc/default/tor.vidalia
if [ -x /usr/bin/vidalia ]; then
 RUN_DAEMON=no
fi

After I've changed RUN_DAEMON=no to RUN_DAEMON=yes , tor has started.

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
