Bug Description
I'm opening a new bugreport. It has the same symptoms described here:
https:/
The bug was closed and already fixed, hence I'm opening a new one. This is with Ubuntu 12.10 and TI 84+. Using the chown trick on /sys/bus/usb made tilp happy and it worked. I was able to upload and execute my own project (awesome!).

Hi, this is upstream.
The libticables2 package in Ubuntu 12.10 seems to contain udev definitions, which is an improvement over some old versions of the package.
Not sure why the udev definition file doesn't yield the expected result for you. A wild, quick guess without looking at the file: maybe the file uses an older dialect of udev definitions that modern udev versions can no longer cope with ? Upstream udev has changed the syntax multiple times over time...
AFAICT, libti* packages work out of the box on Arch Linux, otherwise I'd probably have heard about it :)
You can install libti*/gfm/tilp through http:// lpg.ticalc. org/prj_ tilp/download/ install_ tilp.sh and follow the instructions in the CONFIG file pointed by the script upon successful execution.
This bug report is a good occasion to mention that:
* I recently produced a new release with larger than usual assortment of improvements, bug fixes (a number of which are related to packaging) and new features;
* the switch from SVN to Git should be over by now;
* new Debian packages are in the works, but they've been blocked for a while by the pre-release freeze.
Hope that this helps,
Lionel Debroux.
