Just did an upgrade from 12.04 to Quantal:

sudo sed s/precise/quantal/ --in-place /etc/apt/sources.list
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

I see bug 1025405 is a later report of this same problem. I think I will dupe this bug to that one, just because the English error message may be more widely accessible. Excuse me if that seems rude. Thanks!
